Housatonic Valley Region

Antique Automobile Club of America

Dear Antique Car and/or Truck Enthusiast,

It’s a pleasure to know you are interested in joining our club.  Although antique and collector cars and trucks are considered by us to be a source of great enjoyment, you don’t have to own one to be a member of our club.  The only real prerequisite is that you have an interest in old cars and trucks and a sense of preservation for them.  The camaraderie and fellowship of similarly-minded club members is icing on the cake!

Our local club, the Housatonic Valley Region, is a smaller but very important part of a national organization known as the Antique Automobile Club of America.  The AACA was founded in 1935 and is the oldest automobile club in the U.S.  There are several hundred AACA regions and chapters located throughout the United States and Canada.  The Housatonic Valley Region is one of them.

We meet the second Wednesday of every month at the Hawleyville Fire House just north of Exit 9 (past the commuter lot) off Interstate 84.  The fire house is located on a small street running beside the Hawleyville Post Office which faces Route 25.

We strive to keep our club informal with the primary goal being the enjoyment of the hobby itself.  The meeting starts at 7:30 for fun, fellowship, and education through hobby related topics and seminars.  We host an annual Antique and Classic Automobile Show and organize various special functions throughout the year.  These include parades, tours, picnics, dinners, an auction night, and a special meeting for some of our other hobbies.

We hope you’ll want to join us so you can start to enjoy this fine association of cars and people.  You are welcome to attend meetings as a guest before making the commitment to join.  If you decide to join our local club, you must also become a member of the national organization, the AACA.  Both applications may be submitted simultaneously, but to spread out the cost, the National may be submitted at a later date.  After joining, you will receive our monthly newsletter, One Piece at a Time, and the bi-monthly national magazine, Antique Automobile.

Thank you for your interest in the HVR.  See you at the meetings!
